The dental implant represents the only and most modern solution to replace the missing teeth without reducing the neighbouring teeth or wearing mobile cast metal partial dentures. The advantages of implants are:
- They stop the resorption - the bone atrophy, prevent the movement of the teeth and the gingival retraction
- The comfort of the patient in treatments with implants is closest to the comfort offered by a natural tooth
- They improve mastication, phonation and the physiognomy
- They are recommendable to every patient in good health and with a good oral hygiene, no matter of what age
- They are resistant and long-lasting
The dental implant does not have any disadvantages from a medical point of view.
Any patient, of any age, may decide for a dental implant as an option to replace the missing teeth. An older age is not a contraindication for the dental implant, but other factors are taken into account when recommending the treatment with implants:
- other chronic diseases
- the quantity and the quality of the receptor bone
- the position of the maxillary sinus
- the positions of some nerves and blood vessels
In our dental office we use many types of implants and specific techniques to augment the bone in order to cover the variety of situations, so we have a solution for each single case.
