The periodontal disease - affection of the paradont (gums, bone and the tooth-sustaining ligaments represents one of the major causes of tooth loss and it is provoked as well by the tartar over and under the gums, as by the action of the bacteria on the level of the parodontium.
Besides the trauma of loosing the teeth, there also exists the aesthetic discomfort because of the spaces between the teeth and also because of the gingival retractions. This is why we advice our patients to go to the dentist when the first signs of gingival inflammation appear or if he notices gum bleeding when brushing the teeth, in order to restore the gingival health as soon as possible.
Thanks to the latest discoveries in the field of tissue bioengineering, for the periodontal disease, that not so long ago was labelled as being incurable, we can provide a complex individualised treatment depending on the status of the periodontal disease, thus assuring the prolongation of the teeth's existance on the dental arcade.
